| Dear New Member of McHenry County Composite Squadron,
Welcome. We are excited to have you join us as we continue to make
history in CAP as one of the premier squadrons in NE Illinois. Our
squadron flag proudly wears a unit citation banner recently earned. We
carry a proud tradition of being an active and innovative unit taking an
active interest in all three CAP missions: Cadet Programs, Aerospace
Education, and Emergency Services.
Civil Air Patrol has been serving our nation since the 1940’s. Cadets
have the opportunity to participate in both powered and glider flights.
Summers find CAP cadets all over the world as International Air Cadet
Exchange Students. Others find themselves around the nation taking part
in National Special Activities such as Air or Space Command
Familiarization Training, National Search and Rescue School, Powered or
Glider Encampment, or a number of other options. Seniors members may
attend any of these events as well.
As a new member, you will learn military protocol, and customs and
courtesies. Cadets have a unique opportunity to lead their fellow cadets
as they progress through the program. We all learn to care for and wear
the United States Air Force Uniform as we proudly take part in Civil Air
Patrol activities.
Senior Members we are happy to have you as part of our team. Cadets,
we look forward to your progress and look forward to having you join the
ranks of our cadet officers in the near future.
Semper Vigilans,
Capt James Kalemis
Commander
